Our Lady of Good Remedy - October 8th-Feast

In the late 1100's, St. John of Matha, an enlightened man, began an order called the Trinitarians whose mission was to provide freedom for Christians being sold as slaves after being captured by Moslems. To accomplish buying back the thousands of Christians on the slave market, an enormous amount of money was required; therefore St. John of Matha with his fellow Trinitarians began fundraising. It is not clear as to what their fundraising methods were; however, they did place their efforts in Mother Mary's hands.

Beford they knew it and after centuries, thousands of Christians had been purchased back for freedom. Because St. John was deeply grateful for Her miraculous help, he bestowed Mother Mary with the title of Our Lady of Good Remedy. Europeans and the Latin Americans know well of Our Lady of Good Remedy and are deeply devoted to Her. She is also seen, at times, holding a bag of money. The strength of Her intercessions has been experienced by many people who have had great challenges in obtaining what they need. By deeply praying the specific prayers authored for Her assistance, you will see for yourself the Power of Her Loving Intercession for you.
